Savannah {Romance in the South}

Sounds of laughter and music drifted over the darkened city. Curiosity guided our feet along mansion lined boulevards and cobble stone streets to the source of the merriment.  In the distance, we could see lights dancing among the branches of the old, moss filled trees - like fireflies speckling the night sky with starlight.  In the middle of a city that refused to bend with time, couples danced at an outdoor wedding reception, swaying softly to the sounds of Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers.

We had come to Savannah to carry on what has now become our tradition: to celebrate our wedding anniversary on the road, the place where our love first began.  Since arriving in this queen of southern cities, we had explored her grand streets, her wild nature and her laid back ocean front.  But nothing could compare to watching love blossom in a city that was surely made to nurture such moments.

Right there, in the dark of night, at the edge of a wedding, I took my wife's hand and gently spun her, dancing along with the guests at a wedding in honor of our own.
